Our client sought to create the most valuable portfolio with manageable clinical risk comprised of their newly marketed product, potential follow on indications, and next generation preclinical assets. To accomplish this, Acsel partnered with the client team across multiple engagements from indication strategy to development planning.

  • Conduct extensive research to identify potential indications for the franchise across multiple therapeutic areas
  • Design a data-driven indication prioritization tool to analyze key commercial and clinical factors
  • Develop comprehensive fact bases for prioritized indications, including epidemiology, unmet needs, access environment, and competitive situation
  • Test hypotheses through qualitative and quantitative research on treatment dynamics, patient segments, target product profile scenarios, and elements of clinical development/regulatory concerns
  • Build forecasts for prioritized indications to quantify the opportunities and enable decision making
  • Facilitate scenario planning activities and create contingency plans
  • Lead a series of workshops with a multi-disciplinary team to gain alignment and shape strategy

Acsel’s work guided both lifecycle management and field planning decisions for the marketed asset and moved several indications formally into the clinic.
